It is a process in which powdered or wire metal is melted by an energy source and pushed or sprayed onto the surface of a metal or other structure for the purpose of corrosion control, wear resistance, impact or to restore the size of the part. Although there are many thermal spray processes, the two most common and effective methods for applying aluminum coating are double wire arc coating technology and combustion gas coating technology:

1. Flame Spray Coating:

Flammable gas flame coating is the main method of thermal coating and has been widely applied in many different industries for many years. This method is also divided into 2 common types: powder spraying and wire spraying. The combustion gas flame injection process uses the heat from the flame of oxy-acetylene. The heat from the flame melts the coating material and the compressed air pushes it onto the surface of the material to be coated.

1. Thermal spray aluminium coating with double wire arc (Arc Spray):

The double-wire arc spray method is widely used due to its cost-effectiveness and time-saving construction. In this method, an arc is formed by the contact of two oppositely opposite metal wires. Spray speed is adjustable at wire feed. The coating resulting from this method offers high bond strength, low surface temperature and high coverage rate, making it suitable for large areas of coating material.
